Garth began the ETHER project in 2002. The first album Great Ocean Road
was released independently in October 2002 and was followed up by a short
tour through the US (November 2002).

This album is a further development of the acoustic rock/pop sound in
the style of acts like Crowded House and Travis.
Garth has performed at the CMJ Music Marathon in New York, Larry Groces
Mountain Stage in West Virginia, The Roxy in Los Angeles,
as well as club dates in Charleston, Portland and Austin. In addition
he has played in venues throughout Australia.
Garth has had tracks placed on three compilation CDs released in
the US: The Link on CMJ Certain Damage Vol 125 (2 September
2002), Heart Stops on CMJ Certain Damage Vol 126 (30 October
2002) and The Link on New Music Monthlys companion CD
(September 2002). These compilation albums also included tracks from Ryan
Adams, Aimee Mann, Coldplay, Queens of the Stone Age and Johnny Cash.
Great Ocean Road received extensive airplay on the American College Radio
Network and charted on the Barefoot Rock Top 50 Indie Albums
charts for a total of 11 weeks reaching number 21. The only other Australian
artists to chart in that time period were Alex Lloyd and The Church.
The track What Do I Know from the current album Dance On
Friday Night was played in late 2004 on the following US radio stations
, WVIQ St. Croix V.I, KSCQ, Silver City NM, KJMB Blythe, CA, WXLM Greenwich,
CN, WMXO, Olean , NY, KLBQ, El Dorado, AR, KIXY, San Angelo TX, WIFX,
Whitesburgh, KY, WXTQ Athens , OH.
The track "So Wrong " recieved extensive airplay in 2004 throughout
the Australian public radio network .
Another track from the album called "Closer" was included in
a compilation album of Australian artists who attended the SXSW festival
in Austin Texas in 2005.
The track "What do I Know?" has been included in a compilation
album of Australian artists to be released in Brazil through Planet Records
in late 2005.
Garth has just released a new 4 track CD called Kiss The World Away.
The EPK features two tracks from this CD, Ricochet and Kiss The World
Away.
The CD has been will received on Australian public radio and also on some
internet stations in Europe and The US. The CD has also been added to
the catalogues of PumpAudio and The Vault who specialise in music for
film and advertising in NYC and the US.
