With the release of the "Rouse" LP, songwriter
Mike Head takes on a some classic genres and gives them
a spin all his own. Lush with deep funk grooves , an
indie but edgy vocal style, and consistent rock undertones,
the record boasts the aesthetic of indie pop anthems.
Although songs are diverse from one another, there is
a glue holds them all together much like a concept album
The first single, Sunburnt", immediately
grabs you with it's infectious brand of alternative
pop, followed by addicting vocal melodies, and a full
band atmosphere. The song seems to build and breathes
while it plays on.

Being intrigued by music from a young age, Mike Head
really started to open up in high school after taking
music theory which eventually gave way to guitar and
Djembe drums in his college years. After publishing
his first song on WMVY radio in 2009, the songwriter
took several jazz guitar lessons with Elliot Page of
the Boston Music Company and really prospered in improvisational
performance, and song writing. During the course of
those two years, Head released two books of poetry;
"Solstice", and "Mayfly". Soon after,
he began playing open mics and started using the Garageband
app to fill in the gaps of his instrumental lineup.
Using the tools he had, he honed in on his recording
and mixing technique. The artist released his first
full length album "Sunburnt" in 2016, and
more recently, the "Rouse" LP. The Album is
a testament to where he is at with his sound right now.
